Flip Images Horizontally or Vertically
Drop an image above and switch to the Rotate / Flip tab. Toggle the Flip H or Flip V buttons to mirror the image along either axis. Combine with rotation for any orientation. The preview updates instantly. Click Apply and Download to save as PNG.
When to Flip Horizontally
Selfies and front-camera photos
Front cameras on phones typically save the image as captured by the sensor, not as shown in the preview mirror. This means your photo has your face reversed compared to what you see in the mirror. Apply a horizontal flip to match the mirror view.
Text and signage
An image of a sign or document may appear correctly in the source but reversed when viewed. A horizontal flip corrects this. Check the preview before downloading to verify readability.
Symmetry and design
Horizontal flips are essential in graphic design for creating symmetrical layouts. Mirroring half of an image produces a perfectly symmetrical whole. Product photographers use this for before/after comparisons where the subject faces in opposite directions.
When to Flip Vertically
Scanned documents
Scanners sometimes produce upside-down images depending on how the document was placed on the glass. A vertical flip corrects this instantly without rescanning.
Reflections and mockups
Vertical flips create reflections for product mockups, water reflections in composites, or inverted text effects. Combined with rotation, you can achieve any mirror angle needed.
Print transfers
Some print methods (heat transfers, screen printing) require the design to be flipped vertically for the transfer process. The design prints reversed on the transfer paper so it appears correctly on the final surface.
Batch vs Single Image
The rotate/flip mode works on one image at a time. For batch flipping, use the Convert tab to process multiple files sequentially, or use external batch tools. The live preview makes it easy to verify the result before downloading.
