How to Use

1. Drop an image file onto the converter or click to browse
2. Select SVG as the output format from the dropdown
3. Adjust trace settings in the panel that appears
4. Click Convert to SVG
5. Download the traced vector file

Trace Settings

• Threshold (0-255): the black/white cutoff. Lower values trace fewer paths, higher values capture more of the image as filled paths.
• Detail (0-10): how many path points are generated. Higher values preserve fine features but create larger SVGs.
• Color Mode: B&W traces a single path. Color mode posterizes the image into separate color regions, each traced as its own path.
• Colors (2-8): in Color mode, how many color levels to separate the image into.

When to Use Vector Tracing

Raster images (PNG, JPG) are made of pixels and lose quality when scaled. SVG vectors are mathematical paths that scale to any size without quality loss. Vectorize when you need:

• Logos that work at any size (favicon to billboard)
• Icons for web, mobile, and print
• CNC or laser cutting paths
• Editable vector artwork from hand-drawn sketches
